Bakerella...

One reason, among many, why I can't wait for our new kitchen to be fitted, is so that I can get baking again. I really want to hone my sills and I would love to one day be a baking extrordinaire and make wedding cakes etc.

I have a new love for Cake Pops. I saw them on my sisters blog as someone made them for her baby shower. They are straight forward to make and then you can decorate them how you like! www.bakerella.com has some great decorating ideas and instructions on how to make, but it's basically cake and frosting mixed together. I will post some pics when I get my kitchen and can get baking!

I wanted to make some Halloween ones for my mum's birthday birthday, but we didn't have a fridge :(

I found a new site for free blog templates, as I couldn't find an inspiring one on cutest blogs - if you like my new background you can get them on:

Enjoy :)

At the end of the month we had most of my family come down to stay with us for my mum's birthday. We didn't know if everyone would be able to make it as Megan was in hospital for a few days before, but Meg and my mum were able to make it. We went out for chinese food on the saturday evening and then returned for X-Factor and ice cream! Mum's birthday was on the Sunday so we all went to church and then headed over to Mike's parents in kent for Sunday lunch. It was fun having my parents visit my ward and apparently the family resemblance is still going strong with people asking my mum straight away "Are you Becky's mum?".

It was great to my family, though missed my two preggers sisters Ray and Ed. Bring on April where we will all be in Las Vegas together for the first time in ages (plus the two new babes)!

Extreme Makeover - Home Edition...

Let me introduce you to our new home! Well, new to us anyway. It is the first house we have bought and it's in a lovely village in Surrey called Tadworth. Since we moved to Leatherhead last year, I have wanted to live in the Tadworth area - it's close to London, but still in leafy Surrey and close to lots of things (and the Epsom Downs are just down the road - bonus).

We have a 3 bed semi-detached house and it is a 1950's house. The person we bought it off, has been the only owner since it was built and brought up his family there, so needless to say there is quite a bit of work to do! The house had a house name of 'Gayfield'. The previous owners daughters had left us cards and notes saying that they hoped we had such a lovely time in Gayfield like they all had, it was so nice of them to leave us notes and the history of Gayfield, I did get a little teary. (All the stress and mess of moving must have got a little bit too much for me!). We have since changed the name of the house and it is now called Songhurst House (Songhurst being the previous owners surname - quite impressed Mike thought of it).

We have been really blessed to be able to live here and we have had some help from our parents to get the house into shape as quickly as possible. My dad has been a huge help and has taken time out from work to come and help us. He has rewired the house for us which has been fantastic. The whole house needs to be redecorated and we are going to have a new kitchen and bathroom fitted - so a lot of work, but we are having some fun along the way (and lots of stress - being a bit of a 'Monica' isn't ideal when you are living in a building site lol). So watch this space for updates and more pictures - I think Homebase and decorating stores will become our second home!
